Photojournalist + Founder phylos.us // NYC

Alexandra lives between New York and Madrid. Having been an advertising award winning creative director, her current work focuses on issues linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals such as women's empowerment, education for girls, climate change, sustainable consumption, underwater life, peace and justice. As well as in matters related to cultural heritage and preservation of ethnic groups, she is an expert in marketing and communication strategies, sustainability and social impact.

Dedicating herself to the world of social impact, she has been recognized by the EFE agency and has authored numerous articles for international news magazines. Alexandra has worked from her integrated marketing and communication agency - Phylos.us - which she founded in New York launched at the Rockefeller Brothers Fund headquarters, with the UN, the Red Cross, Unicef, Unesco. Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the UN, the grantess of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund (Composers Now and Dancewave), Africare, Ocean Generation, Womanity Foundation, Promujer and Ferrari among others. This has led her to encompass and document solidarity projects through out Asia, Africa and Latin America.

In addition to her work at Phylos, Alexandra continues her work as a creative director in the private and government sectors. She currently collaborates, in the role of brand strategist, with the Spanish Ministry of Defense (INTA) in the aerospace, aeronautics and research division.

With about 100 countries visited and a polyglot in four languages, her passion is the contact with local people, which led to her photographic book ‘Scattered Joy’, based on the ethnic groups she lived with in Southeast Asia. An exhibition at the UN reflects this work. A second photographic exhibition commissioned by the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the UN, covered the theme of the diversity and ethnic groups that make up that country.

She is currently collaborating on a documentary series based on the SDG 2030. Shot around the globe, it reveals different problems and personal stories related to the theme of peace. These testimonials are accompanied by interviews made to the recipients of the Nobel Peace Prizes and spiritual leaders such as The Dalai Lama. The documentary is narrated by Pope Francis.
